I like this image a lot, Lorraine, and it has wonderful potential. But the seagull and the people on the beach seem to be out of scale. This is probably artifact caused by your using a wide-angle lens. Such lenses tend to increase distance between objects, causing some distortion in scale.

I would digitally remove the people on the beach; thus, creating the seagull to be the main subject. By doing this the leading line taking the viewer's eye up through the photo to the sun and the seagull is uninterupted. Removing the people will simplify the image, making it stronger. As it stands now, they take away from the leading line.

Cheers,

Thank you, Glenn, as always for your suggestions. I shall try to do as you say, digitally. I was on a mountain top so the people did look small, but I agree with you that it would look better with them gone. Thanks. Lorraine #1965
