Details & Macro
This is a conch shell and sea fan that an old and dear friend gave to me. She's well into her 90's.
Photo taken in macro mode using sunlight filtering through a window for the backlighting. Basic editing done in PS CS.

WOW! Sharon this is AWESOME!!!! I don't know how I'd missed it when you submitted it. When I saw the thumbnail I thought it was a beautiful sunset photo, but looking closer (and with my glasses on), I just couldn“t believe the beauty of this wonderful composition. Everything in it is perfect; the lighting, the colors and that wonderful feeling of hidden beauty.Donna J. Taff February 19, 2005 0

Hmmm...This is pretty unique gift and a wonderful photograph. It is hard to find fan coral as it is pretty fragile. On my recent trip to Dry Tortugass National Park, I was lucky enough to find two of them on the beach...still achored to their base, but broken off from the main coral colony. One was pretty fresh as it still retained its deep purple color. I will try to post the photo here at betterphoto.com soon. #1278761Sign up for an interactive online photography course to get critiques on your photos.
