Uploaded: January 17, 2005

Description

An American bald eagle has lunch in a tree near Alton, IL. on a sunny winter day. 300mm Nikkor ED lens, 1/1000 around f9, 400 ISO.

I mainly wanted to share this, and other images of our national bird but feel free to comment on the photo as you please.

This is one of the images from my second eagle outing this year. Hope the bloody fish doesn't disturb anyone, but if it does, eagles gotta eat too.

Thanks.

Great catch, Bob! I like the lines of the branches. I need to get out and do some Eagle watching myself, wish I had a long lens!! Is this along the Great River Road??

Thanks Larry and Theresa. Larry, yeah, it was this morning out on the Missouri side of the Clark bridge, on the right or north side, not where everyone else goes.

Great capture!! I love his expression: "Are you going to steal my fish?" Excellent!
