North Sea Twilight

Uploaded: July 28, 2008

Description

The captain said that the North Sea was "behaving herself this night --she is not usually so calm!" We felt "her" at her normal self enroute back to the U.K. She was a very turbulent.

A great picture Susan. I especially like the waves that fill all the foreground up nicely. The boats make a nice little group and the sky is heavenly! #6266138

Thank you everyone for your comments and for taking the time to visit my gallery. This image was taken on our first night at sea and thankfully we had wonderful weather and calm seas. The North Sea was so calm, in fact, that the captain commented on the unusual event.

The return to the U.K. had the North Sea being her typical self. Having trouble walking anyway, I didn't need to fall. So I went after quiet activity, which did not include looking or photographing the sea.

This was a simple matter of tonality correction in Levels, Curves, and trial and error with the sail boats to enhance the composition. I'm a novice in Photoshop.

Again, thank you all. #6281583
