An Irish Lullaby - Take 3
Uploaded: July 08, 2008
Teena wearing her hat, this is my third attempt from the critiques I have been given, thank you all but no time to re-do it again lol. I used Corel Painter Essentials this time and hand painted her. The head gear are fairy wings that were too small so I put them on her head. HA. I do like this image as she is so sweet!Lovely profile!
Graham took this shot if I remember correctly.

Thank you Cheryle Debbie (I love your dog btw! Aimmee and Dale). Your words meant a lot!
This time I took the image into Painter Essentials and painted over everything and made the colour tad brighter, I could not see the spots but just in case I re-did it.
Teena does remind me of an Irish Washerwoman now and the crop is divine, thank you Dale.

on 7/7/2008 1:12:59 PM Pat, I love this image, it is fun and so tender at the same time. I think it shows the deication that dogs give to use, beautiful colors just fantastic work.

on 7/7/2008 1:42:16 PM How did I miss this? Guess I had a busy week last week! So cute as usual Pat! You are better with your dogs than I am with my kids! I really want to do portrait type stuff, but it is seeming very difficult for me! I'm not sure if you can see this on your screen, but I can see spots that you missed in cloning. Right above her nose there is a spot and all around the top of her hat and above it there are spots! Give it another look and maybe tilt your screen a few different ways to see if it shows up! Such a cute idea!

on 7/7/2008 3:48:26 PM I'll tell you what....the day I get Sampson to wear a hat, I will send you a picture of him. I would guess that would be never, so here is one I took this weekend. He's what I'd call a good model, so long as it's "Au Naturel"...

on 7/7/2008 3:51:56 PM Pretend you are now listening to "Grazing in the Grass is a gas, baby, can you dig it?".
And yes, Aimee, I know his nose is out-of-focus. Such it is with golden retriever noses. If you get the eyes, you usually don't quite get the nose. Of course if I'd had a tripod maybe I could have gotten it more in focus but then he'd get up for sure and come sniffing at the tripod.

LOL yes this is one of his, I have to remember who took what, I cropped me out of the shot.I had to dress Teena up, the wings were meant for her back, not her dead. I cloned out some hat elastic that kept them there lol.
Thank you for your kind words Aimmee, I now know what to do when I do this one again when I re-work from the original.
I couldn't get rid of the spots as I couldn't find them so decided to give it a painterly effect to hide. ~Pat #6153947

Wow! What a wonderful re-creation, Pat. You have such an old fashioned touch. This looks like a painting that would have hung in the house of someone well to do in the late 1800's or something. I really like it! WELL DONE! -Laura #6156156Graham Robards July 08, 2008
Hi there Laura, I went and looked at the musical version and Teena looks like a dead old Irish washerwoman, it fits in so well with the music. For the Musical version CLICK

The Music is working on my laptop Laura. You are lucky to be in summer, it is freezing cold over here! I hate it!
If I had the time I would moderate for you,it seems such a shame that nobody seems to be nurtering the newbies.
