this is a wonderful shot and great manipulation.
im trying to figure out how you "underexposed" your shot with a sx 70.

Tom, thanks. The underexposure is a cumulative effect - like most cameras it tends to underexpose in bright snow and by underexposing another 2-3 on the exposure compensation dial you get the blue colour. I've done quite a few this way and have used 2 different cameras, so I don't think it was a camera or flim funny. It needs a bit of experimentation. Then, as you can see, you need to use firm stylus pressure on a coldish emulsion to cut through to the white underneath to give it the lightness back, otherwise it becomes a dark mess.
