Chiaroscuro lighting on Lily

Uploaded: May 30, 2008

Description

One of my cats "Austin" got run in front of my office so I buried him where he used to stay and planted this Lily in his honor. The next morning it was in full bloom with a beautiful Chiaroscuro lighting coming through the trees in this dappled light and shadow fashion. Got the macro lens out and took this capture with Canon 20D and Sigma 180 macro lens at F/3.5 and 1/800 sec handheld.

Exif: F Number: 3.5, Exposure Bias Value: 0.00, ExposureTime: 1/800 seconds, Flash: did not fire, compulsory flash mode, ISO: 400, White balance: Auto white balance, FocalLength: 180.00 mm, Model: Canon EOS 20D

HI Shelly and Amalia. I have been busy at several projects. Got well after the heat stroke but got some great shots and was worth it. Hope to have enough for an exhibition later (have not had time to review all the CF cards yet). I just completed a 60 photo exhibition that will go for about 2 months for a library in Ozona, Texas for Texas History Month. Those things take a lot of prep and are time consuming. Will catch up later. #6030521

Four years ago, this was taken. I am sorry to hear about Austin. The lighting is beautiful on this lily. It is not the easiest flower to photograph. Great image, Emile. #10144767
