Inverted Loop at Air Show

Uploaded: April 18, 2008

Description

No, it's not Tom Cruise's "Maverick" showing off in his F-14, nor the Blue Angels' solo, but a skipjack herring inverted, jumping about five feet high, as a number of them were putting on a real aerial display. That light colored fin you see facing downward is actually its top dorsal fin as it is upside down. We might call this "fish-in-flight" a FIF since we call birds-in-flight a BIF.

f/8, 1/500, ISO 250, AWB, evaluative, lens Canon EF 28-135, fl 135, De Leon Springs State Park, FL, 4/18/08.

Exif: F Number: 8, Exposure Bias Value: 0.00, ExposureTime: 1/500 seconds, Flash: did not fire, compulsory flash mode, ISO: 250, White balance: Auto white balance, FocalLength: 135.00 mm, Model: Canon EOS 40D
