what a beautiful church, is there a place where you could get a shot of just the church with a similar angle? #895716Liz Kelso April 08, 2008
Probably not. I was across the street. When I tried to zoom in, I lost the spires. It is a difficult shot. St. Patrick's is one of the hardest churches to photograph because there is no room to maneuver. Any closer I'd be in the street, any further back, the big Atlas guy statue would be in the way. #5763903David Martinez Fresneda April 09, 2008
nice shot , where do you meteering light? in church wall or in sky?, I suspect did you take it in church facade... #5767233Liz Kelso April 09, 2008
Hi David. yes I metered the church. I didn't know it at the time, but I was told it is overexposed. I have to check my camera settings. #5767238Tammy O April 16, 2008
Great photo liz. St Patricks is beautiful. I have a similar picture taht I took back in 2005 I uploaded it to my portfolio if your interested. #5796514Molly E. Baldwin June 17, 2008
Awesome angle and pov Liz! I think it would look even better if you cropped just a little off of the right side. The church would be more centered. Or at least tilt it clockwise just a tad. #6071319Patricia Seidler July 14, 2008
Beautiful shot of St. Patrick's. I have tried numerous times to get it myself, but like you said its very difficult. Not only is there "little room to maneuver" but the throngs of people walking by and around you makes it very hard to get one without someones head in it, unless you go in the wee hours of the morning! I would try a polarizing filter to enhance the blue sky and clouds the next time. #6177181Liz Kelso July 14, 2008
Thanks Patricia. Yes I did not have my filter or my lens shade with me that day, I'm not licked yet though, I'll get a great picture of this church if it kills me. #6177660Sign up for an interactive online photography course to get critiques on your photos.
