G'day Judy,

A most worthy Finalist indeed!

While not a true Nature photograph because the bird is sitting on a man made object, this is a great Open subject.
You have a very fine specimen of the species as a subject for a start.
It is in a great pose to show off its form and plumage clearly and in detail.
I really like the way the angular bird is in juxaposition with the curls of the bracket upon which it sits.
While it would have been better if the bird was facing the other way, there is still plenty of room on our left for it to be looking into.
Lighting/exposure/processing are spot on!
You focus is very crisp and the depth of field allows us to see the fine detail right through the subject as well as creating a very nice bokeh.
The contrast is most pleasing and the colours are so beautifully natural.
Great work that girl!
