Immature Cooper's Hawk Hunting

Uploaded: February 25, 2008

Description

ISO 1000, f/8, 1/200 sec, Canon 400mm DO IS lens plus 1.4X extender, handheld. This immature Cooper's Hawk has been coming around my bird feeders for most of the winter. He was a very clumsy hunter at first and I wasn't convinced he would survive the winter (raptors have a very high mortality rate in their first year of life) but he appears to be hanging in there.

Exif: F Number: 8, Exposure Bias Value: 0.00, ExposureTime: 1/200 seconds, Flash: did not fire, compulsory flash mode, ISO: 1000, White balance: Manual white balance, FocalLength: 560.00 mm, Model: Canon EOS 5D
