Description

This Osprey was a headhunter. A Great Blue Heron eventually came by and waited for scraps below the limb here. Then, the heron lost its patience and flew up to take the fish away, but the osprey had it hooked and took off with the heron in hot pursuit.

Thank you Nancy and Dawn. It was such a thrill to watch this scene play out, along with a nearby large alligator staring me down. You never know how long the subject will stick around knowing it is being watched, and you also have to be wary of the alligator nearby. Outdoor nature photography--what a rush! #5412566
