Description

This image was destined for the scrap heap. It intitially was a full body shot, grosely over exposed with sever blowouts. But there was something about the face that made me try to save it.
I decided to try to make an art piece and with some help from PSE5 filters, desaturation of the red in the eyes, isololation and sharpening and saturation of the eyes and a few other forgotten steps, I had my image. A final multiplication blend completed the effort. No one in my family liked it but I love it.

Exposure time: 1/30 F-stop: 7.1

Exif: F Number: 7.1, Exposure Bias Value: -2.00, ExposureTime: 10/300 seconds, Flash: did not fire, compulsory flash mode, ISO: 160, White balance: Manual white balance, FocalLength: 71.50 mm, Model: DSC-R1

Thank you Chris. The eyes did it for me, and you certainly captured the eyes in "Cutie Pie" to create a real keeper. Dale #5317605

I really appreciate your comments, Jane and Luigi. As I stated in the comments, none of my family liked the image. I think it was because they know her and felt the image made her look "hard" I've since posted more shots from that session the better depict who she really is. #5393208

I love it.

I can see why you tried to rescue this shot. The facial expression is so compelling; the eyes almost haunting. Very good photo art Dale. #6453853

Irene, I am thrilled that you took the time to review some of my shots. I admire your work and expertise so much and it means a lot to me that you are commenting.

This girl is such a natural beauty that even when I was taking quick snaps there always seemed to be something in the look that was appealing. It's so refreshing when an image has that "something" that interests you. It makes me try and try again to get something from it. Nothing better to get me to actually learn something with PS. #6454214
