Awesome Image, Brenda! #167314

Thanks, again, Wilson! I get a lot of people asking if I set this up with the leaves, but the awesome experience was finding them scattered all over this dried streambed after a wind had taken them off the trees. I look for intimate scenes like this when I am out photographing - I find that often, the close-up details are more exciting and can tell the story in a better way than the bigger scene. #767861

Talk about the "Wow factor". I love this image and that you found it as is. The fact that the texture of the mud reflects that of the leaves is fantastic. I love the color contrast, too. It's a shot we all dream of taking - great work! #821373

Thanks, Ralph - I could have spent the whole day along this streambed, it was so wonderful! #823867

Brenda,
Can you tell me how you got your name and copyright watermark on the image?
Ralph #823914

Brenda Tharp October 05, 2004

Yes, Ralph. I first make a Text layer in Photoshop, typed the symbol and name, and then chose Layer Styles >> blending options. In that mode, I chose bevel and emboss on the left column, and played with the general and advanced blending sliders to get the effect that was the least intrusive. I chose a text color that was appropriate for the text, too. Hope this helps! I learned this technique from Lewis Kemper, by the way. (Thanks, Lewis!) #825163

Thanks, Brenda - and Lewis - I'll try it. I only have PS Elements but hopefully I'll be able to do it there as well. I'm starting an Elements class in a couple of weeks, too, so hopefully there's a way with what I've got. #826234

Hi Brenda,

Wonderful image!! Please excuse my ignorance, but where do I find the copyright symbol? Is it on the keyboard or in PS? I feel really dumb, as I have a degree in Photography. I guess I missed that day in Digital Design class. No; I think I've just not had a need for it until recently. Thanks so much. Regards, #826547

On a MAC, it's the OPTION G combination. I think on the PC it would be ALT G, but I'm not certain. Hope this helps! #831708

Love the texture of the dried creek bed and the red leaves really add the finishing touch! #870988

Thanks Thomasa. I was grateful for the breeze that took the leaves off the tree before I got there for this image! #881826
