Moon on Fire

Uploaded: July 29, 2007

Description

The Full Moon a few weeks back. It really did look like it was on fire this night but it didn't show in the original picture. I edited this one in photoshop, its a little more exaggerated then reality. Aperture F/5.6, Shutter 1 Sec., Lens 300mm, ISO-100. Taken 30 June 2007 from my house in Porcia Italy...

Nice shot Brian. I'm surprised at the amount of moon surface detail you were able to get at this exposure. My Nikon D50 with a 300mm lens requires 1/1200 - 1/1600 sec at F8 & ISO200 to get much moon surface detail and slower speeds give just a featureless white disk. #775736

Thanks Derek, Yes I was surprised also, mostly by the number of clouds in the sky that obstructed the view. The colors were amazing also. #5015070
