From the photographer:

The description should have read: "One *in* a series of...".

This was shot with a D1x and was created as a quadtone in Photoshop. I should have sharpened it again after resizing it for the web - the original is tack sharp and better reveals the undulating surface of the old paint.

This was shot with the equivalent of a 600mm lens which I use often because I'm interested in the compositions that can be found within larger more obvious architectural elements.

As a point of interest, I asked for permission from the homeowner to open the louvered door that shutters the hardwood door to introduce the opposing diagonal lines to counter the strong perspective of the pediment. I was thrilled to see that the upper edge of the opened door and the white highlight on the column completed a nice triangle. Happy accidents are always welcome. #8297
