Fun With Fall Leaves

Uploaded: August 26, 2002 20:42:15

Description

This is a photo I took of my son 2 years ago. I went out with my husband's Nikon F5 and a 28-70 lens (plus a hope and a prayer!!). I was new to the camera, but I figured out where the shutter button was and let it rip, hand-held, using Kodak Elite Chrome 100. I always liked this picture and even more when I removed the parking area to the right in Adobe. I hope you like it too.

Mary,

Nice shot. I love the leaf cover and the action of your son throwing the leaves.

This is really nice, Mary. Love the orange coat on your son---really pops against the fall colored leaves, which, I might add, are enough to make me want to pack up and head to Vermont or somewhere like it! We never get this kind of color down here on the "prairies." Did you happen to shoot your son from above lying in the leaves--filling the frame with both? Would also make a nice shot, I think.

Nice work. #12577

...another thought: a close-up shot of just your son and the leaves in the air would be nice as well! Thanks for the ideas! I'll have to get my traveling shoes out to find any leaves though.... :( #12578

Thank you Bob and Piper! I agree, a shot from the ground, maybe with a wide angle lens would be interesting. I appreciate all ideas! Hey, I can't believe it, it's hotter than ..... here, and the leaves are starting to turn already! Come on up to sunny Southern Oregon! #12580

I like this shot too! The color is great and love the carefree, playfulness of your son. I want to come up to Oregon for some shots too!! lol Good luck on the contest. #12602

Thank you Stephanie! Your comments, along with the others, really mean alot to me! I had been very shy about entering anything, but I'm glad I did. You all have given me a great and much needed boost! Stephanie, Mid Sept thru Oct are good times to come up to the Umpqua Valley in Oregon. I took this one in early November... Hope I can get some more shots this fall if the state hasn't burnt up by then!! #12666
