A day to remember

Uploaded: June 08, 2007

Description

Although I didn't take this picture, I thought you might like to see how close the Pasha Bulker is to the Newcastle (NSW) beach. This coal carrier went aground approx 10am today, no-one was hurt & so far the ship is in one piece. As the bad weather is still with us, we will have to wait until daylight to see how she fares overnight.

Wow Chris! Very dramatic!! Very scary as well! We have been so very dry! Almost 8 weeks of hardly any rain. I am afraid when it does come, it won't be a 'nice' one. Do take care and be safe!!! Thank you for sharing with us. #4381966

Our national news showed photos of this grounded ship, Chris.

Mother Nature's raw power is beautiful and at the same time frightening....

I live in Philadelphia, PA...about an hour and a half from the Atlantic Ocean. Our sailboat is berthed in Forked River, New Jersey. She's a 22' Catalina<:)) #4476633

On Monday night Pasha Bulker was finally "saved". She is now back in Newcastle getting checked over. I'm so pleased all ended OK for her. #4477349

It sure was a sight to be seen, so big, so close!! I didn't hear anything about your mishap down there, I guess they were to busy telling us how bad off we were up here. What was the name of the ship? #4520279
