Tajik Family

Our tour bus was travelling along the Karakorum Highway (on the Chinese side) to the Pakistan border when we passed by this lady with her baby. We stopped the bus, got out and took photos of her and her baby. Before long, her husband galloped up in a donkey and joined in the fun. At the back of them is the snow-capped Pamir Mountain range.
The Tajiks are one of the 56 ethnic groups in China. Most of the 41,000 of them live in China's western Xinjiang region. Some researchers view them as a collection of over a dozen small East Iranian ethnic group that are related to, but distinct from, the Tajiks of Tajikistan. (Source: Wikipedia)
