Isolation

This photo was taken along the Oregon Coast on a trip that saw no sun. So I choose to try something different in terms of perspective. I know this breaks the thirds rule but I needed to go outside the boundaries to come up with something new so that rocks come into the middle to the distant haystacl like a vortex.

Breathtaking! And that's an adjective I sheldom use. I think that the panoramic composition is a perfect choice for this image. #4030928Rachel McKinnie March 07, 2007
OOOOOOOOOOO! This looks like a winner to me. Absolutely gorgeous! #4030990Laurie Daily March 07, 2007
Rules were most definitely made to be broken. I feel as if I am being swept away into this image. A very powerful panoramic, Kevin #4031910cheryl m. phillips March 07, 2007

I think your composition and POV are outstanding! This is a very beautiful landscape. Great title, too! #4032465Susan M. Hembree March 07, 2007
Nice shot, Kevin! Sometimes we just have to do the best with what's there and you have done a wonderful job! Good effects, contrasts, and perspective. #4032657Melissa G. Meiselman March 07, 2007
This is a breathtaking image...such a beautiful landscape with the low diffused lighting giving this scene a surreal look. I rarely predict winners, but I cannot imagine this image being ignored by the powers that be, Kevin!! #4032677Sign up for an interactive online photography course to get critiques on your photos.
