My advice - stick to BP!!! This is a beautiful shot! #426203

Allan L. Whitehead March 16, 2004

This is a terrific shot Jan. The composition, the cooring, and the DoF are all very well done. I really don't know a lot about shooting flowers, however, maybe if the front of the flower was more visible than the back it might have made a difference. As I saaid before, this is a terrific shot. Well done - Allan #426243

My sincere thanks to all of you, Colette, Judy, Kristen, Joy, Allan, and Stan (who e-mailed me). I greatly apreciate your helpful feedback and suggestions. This is why I like BP so much...there's not just a number with no explanation, you get feedback and that's how you learn! Have a great day :-) #426269

Marie Fields March 16, 2004

Wow! I think this is incredible, Jan!! I wish I were advanced enough in flower photography to "dish out" some of that brutal honesty you're looking for but I can't come up with anything! Please email me and let me know if you find out why anyone would have given you a poor review on this shot!!! Keep up the great work!

Bonnie C. Lackey level-classic March 16, 2004

I looked at this trying to find something to criticize. The closest I can come would be to remove the lowest leaf on the left hand side to give a more stately presentation - but that's really stretching a point. It's really lovely... #427749

Gianna Stadelmyer March 17, 2004

Thanks for taking the time to look it over and make a suggestion, Bonnie! Several people said the same thing about the leaf, so I have cloned it out and am going to resubmit it :-) Thank you for the nice comments as well. #428050

Sandra Hardt level-deluxe March 19, 2004

I don't know about the leaf, Jan- have you tried rotating this 30 degrees to the right and then cropping just where the stem fills the left corner? I don't know what this would look like but maybe it is worth a look-see. The line might give it a more dynamic look. I think this is a beautiful shot as it is, but I wondered what a rotation might look like? #434961

Gianna Stadelmyer March 20, 2004

Thanks for the advice, Sandra:-) I have tried this several ways and when I rotated it right, the diagonal leaves by the rose head cut the photo in half, so I am going to try to rotate to the left and see what that does. Just cloning out the leaves though made a huge difference. #435587
