Really nice shot, Jim. Both the shape and the colour of the dead palm frond make it a great background for the handsome white egret. I like the composition a lot! #6230

Thanks for the nice comments on this shot, Gerda and Peder. I have just been trying to get used to a new lens with my camera, and so far, it seems to be working pretty well. #9070

You are welcome Jim, very well deserved!
New lens? I am always interested in lenses used by other Canon EOS D30 users. I have tried about 10 lenses on my D30, currently I have a Sigma 70-200 F2.8 EX and a Sigma 180 F3.5 Macro EX. Also using a Sigma 2X teleconverter with both lenses. As soon as I can afford it I will buy the Sigma 24-70 F2.8 EX. I have used some original Canon glass, but for the price, I am very satisfied with my Sigma lenses. I would love to hear your opinion on lenses for the D30. Again, congrats on your beautiful egret photo.
Peder.
