Thanks Kristen and Stephen! I had alot of motivation for this one...I entered it into the Middle Eastern Photographer's contest for their magazine cover competion...the cover had to reflect photography and something from the Middle East! The one that won was of a little Filipina Girl looking through a camera on a tripod! Go figure! #379337

What a fabulously creative image, Dana! I think your image should have won! :-) #380066

Dana D. Wiggins Thompson February 16, 2004

Thanks Patricia! I saw alot of good entries but the one that placed first had nothing to do with the Middle East! There were 5 categories and to me this one was the most difficult! #380088

Dana, Add my kudos for this great shot. But how did you do it? Is it a PhotoShop manipulation, or if not, how did you get the abstract, otherworldly look?
#451294

Dana D. Wiggins Thompson March 28, 2004

Thanks Bill! I did this in Photoshop 7.
It is a composite of three photos..1) film and genie lamp 2) the face 3) the background. I manipulated the face by dragging out the hair into wisps...same with the end of the film to get the smokey effect. #451328
