Aloha Howard!

Thanks for the question, it is me in the picture, my husband took it when I was comfy in the sofa and the only lights we have is from our lampshade, just a candid shot of me:)just a picture of my inner soul:)we were experimenting on the camera, and just learning from it.
I want to commend your gallery really you take nice pictures very lively! really capture the emotions of it.
Thank you again and hope to hear from you in our future works.

Hi Sumilea.

I see and understand now the theme of your photo... Well, just a few comments... I like your expression and knowing now what you were trying to capture, it does the trick... You do look comphy and relaxed.... additionally, the colors and composition is very nice. However, just my opinion, unless you were trying to show motion, the blur in this could have been masked with a 'soft focus' trick in photoshop.... it would have given a warm feeling, and hidden the camera shake. The colors and message might have shown through without a distracting blur.

For a technical tip -- If you increase the ISO on your camera, you can take photos in low light settings and not worry about slow speeds as much.

Like anything else, it takes experimentation. Next time, try a low F-Stop number(like F/2.8 if your lens can step down that much and a high ISO, like 800 or 1000). As always, with high ISO settings, sometimes there is a trade off of low light with noise. Again, with soft focusing techniques or noise removal plugins, photoshop can help a lot.

Thanks for your comments about my gallery. I have also been trying to improve my techniques, especially in low light situations. I'm an amateur also.

Keep taking the photos... You are in Hawaii, right? I'm jeolous, We got about 18 inches of new snow here in Colorado this past weekend. ;-)

Thank you for the tips it really means alot and reallt will help me and my husband improve our craft! you dont look like an amatuer with all the nice vivid pictures in your gallery these are very well composed and capturing the mobility is not an easy job and really nice place you have there! This paradise we have here is very picturesque but Snow is something you will not catch the whole year round, only few people like you can catch the beauty of it!

Thank you again and hope to hear more comments from you, your expertise is really a great help.

I like your smile and that you are so relaxed in front of the camera. It does take time to learn a new camera and all the settings. I have a new camera myself, so I know how it is! With the help from BP members, you will learn a lot and soon be showing us photos from all over Hawaii! Since I will probably never make it over there, I will enjoy seeing the sights through your work! #3525614
