Below is a photo of the setup I use when taking flowers indoors.

I use a silver reflector on the background. Before doing this I was always having problems with the backgrounds being too dark. The silver reflector solved this problem.

I purchased the little water vial from the florist's department at the grocery store for .10 cents each. I melted some candle wax into the jar to hold the vial. Just simply push the vial down into the wax.

Lastly, but not pictured, is I use either a white or a silver reflector to reflect the window light back onto the subject. I usually hold this with my hand as I view the image through the viewfinder so I know the light is reflected as I want it. #504191

Great shot and lesson, Sharon. The background sure fooled me as to it being indoors. My only question is, "Do you have two Nikon D70's? If, not how did you use yours to take aphoto of itself?" (LOL) #3172327

Sharon Day August 16, 2006

Thanks, Wally! I wondered if anyone would notice that :o)! I borrowed my daughter's D70 for the setup pic. #3172379

Perfect shot and your setup gets proven results. Try a black background sometime and meter off of a gray card. These look good too. #3172979
