I know little about them Jim except that Ansel Adams did a great job photographing them. I have been awaiting my chance as some old guys. Nicely presented landscapeand the bristlecone in the foreground really add to the perspective. #495337

Thanks I jsut widh I hadn't been so out of breath!! 11500 ft the second morning we were there and just couldn't hack hiking up the hill again to get closer shots.

Thanks, but what did you mean stretch for the eye? If something is out of whack I like to know it.
Yes, this was around 11,500 feet.
Really, really wanted to take some more shots but altitude was too much for us on first and second day there adapting.

Thanks, these are realy interesting trees, oldest thing on earth 4000= years for some of them. Some of this group up to 1700 years old.
