Description

Aperture F3.5, shutter 1/1002 sec., focal length 5mm, Taken by Patsy Diana in Brooksville, Florida, using a Canon PowerShot A70 digital camera, Some editing in Photo Filter. Picture taken at 2:08pm on 06/07/06. I have been practicing blurring the background while keeping the foreground as sharp as possible.

Not only a different perspective to your other shot of this flower, but a much more interesting one. Just the background spolils this for me: next time, try for a plain background; your idea to se differential focus was good, but f3.5 just wasn't large enough to blur the background properly. You might consider a combinationation of cloning out the top of the wall and selective recolouring to hold back the white areas, or adjusting the levels to compensate for that.
Well worth shooting again...try carrying a small piece of dark green or black cloth in your camera bag for situations like this. #549135
