Walking in Santorini...

Uploaded: June 02, 2006

Description

I was walking in this village paved road on the island of Santorini, when I saw this dog. Immediately I thought of taking a spot metering out of the black colour of the dog, so as to excessively overexpose the shot and see what would come out of it. Then I decreased the exposure by half a stop so as to avoid the dog coming out as grey. So I intentionally overexposed the photo on camera, in order to try something out of the ordinary.

I like what you did Andreas! Very dramatic..! Gave me the feeling as though I might want to turn around and walk away from there as quickly and quietly as possible. (Oh...and I am an animal lover) :) #457183

I love the surrealistic feel to this shot ~ almost as if the dog has stepped out of time .. very creative!
