Bonnie, a neighbour's Working Kelpie
Uploaded: April 09, 2006
Exp. 1/80 F/4.0 70.00mm
Bonnie is 12 y.o., is deaf, and now losing her sight. She has been a wonderful working dog but has now well and truly retired. Workings dogs are worth their weight on gold.
This was taken on a slope.

This is a wonderful portrait of Bonnie, Bea. While growing up, I we had Labrador Retrievers and they all were working dogs. What breed is this dog? #2625858Pamela Shane April 09, 2006

Thank you Melissa and Pamela. Melissa, she's a working dog, a Kelpie, bred to work sheep and cattle. They say a good sheep/cattle dog is worth two fully paid working men!Margaret Sikora April 10, 2006
A wonderful photo of this great breed of dog Bea,my uncle had a few when he was a drover many years ago,and yes they are worth there weight in gold. #2627066Bea. Anderson April 10, 2006
Thanks Margaret. I've been involved in Bonnie's life quite a bit. Looking after her when her owners were away for a few days. Plus an emergency trip to the vet with her and her owner several months ago, but all was well. They are true work dogs, and will go all day, and not really suited to being alone in a backyard. Bonnie has had a wonderful life, doing what she was bred to do. #2627094Ray Clarke April 10, 2006

Thanks Audrey. She potters about, and goes on short walks with her owner. There is no stock on the farm now. It's all been planted with eucalypts. #2629841Sign up for an interactive online photography course to get critiques on your photos.
