Description

As the leaves fall on the ice and absorb the warmth of the sun, they slowly melt and leave incredibly detailed impressions! This one happened to escape its icy grave. A few days later, this all melted away (photo taken on 3/26/06). It was fun to capture this phenomenon. ISO 200, 78 mm, 1/320 at f/5.6 and saturated a bit in PSE4.

Thank you, Melissa! These little "graves" were scattered all over my pond; it was quite a sight. Have a wonderful day!

This is an awsome shot Leslie. I love the color of the leaf against the blues of the ice and water. Great shot. Kathy in NH #2601541
