Excellent! Polar bears and pandas are my favorites for lots of reasons. This would look great next to another 8x10 of a polar bear I have at home! I'm jealous....super shot #174828

Great shot, Birdie! May I ask how do you get the dark contrasting backgrounds on these zoo shots? Very attractive! #175382

Mark Oxley August 23, 2003 0

White subject and black background = recipe for disaster! Not in this case though, exposure is spot on. Great job Birdie!! Love the composition and expression on the bears face. #175478

He is LARGE, believe me, his paws being twice as big as my head. But it was absolutely safe, the distance was about 8 meters I guess. I don't think he was sad, even if it may look like it. But one thing I can say for sure - he was hot!!!

Penny: This was taken in Vienna Zoo.

Viveca: He is VERY real!! Lol!

Jean: There is a spot metering mode with the 5700. That makes it a lot easier. And there was enough shadow in the background of the bear to start with.

Thanks again for your great support!
