Were you waiting for the tide to turn to catch to boat head on Joe? It really works and looks so simple and neat!!! #379438

Kate I have found in life the tide always turns, but usually in the wrong direction! No,not realy I just happened to be there, by chance, at the right time of day...Maybe the tide has turned! Thanks Kate. #2330391

Of course I was forgetting again that your tides are not so strong as ours. To be in that position on our river you would need a mooring rope both ends but no way could you have it tight enough to keep it straight anyway as you have to allow for it going up and down. So I would guess it would be for about 1 minute only that the boat would be in that position. Perhaps there is some kind of dock thing at the back that is holding it in position. #2330996

Kate I do not recall any rope at the back. Its in a bay this location and would experience little of the open water effects. It often looks more of a mill pond but the water further out in the channel is moving much quicker with much larger waves. So I suppose its more to do with the sheltering effect. #2339387
