Fantastic photo. It is so awesome with the effects you used. Looks just like a painting. Should be hanging in a gallery. The difference between the two are amazing. #2291838

Marsha S. Smith January 15, 2006

OH MY GOODNESS GRACIOUS, SAKES ALIVE!!!!! Steve, seriously this has to be THE most impressive bit of PS I have ever seen. Looking at it I can't even imagine where to begin to get your final results. Super cool! #2292730

Piotr M. Organa January 15, 2006

You are so good with this technique! Amazing skill, Steve. Love it! #2292965

Steve Mescha January 16, 2006

Thanks very much, Marsha and Piotr! I'll list a few of the techniques for anyone who's interested.
I colorized and buzzed the origional photo to give the dress a a more graphic look. On a seperate layer I selected sections of the background and filled them with color. On the next layer I drew the chair with the pen tool, filled it with white and burned some shadow on it. The skin is yet another layer using selection tools, and auto shape for the hand. The circle of green balls was very easy. I dragged a round selection and converted it to a path. I set the paint brush to size and color I wanted, slid the spacing slider way up (in tools options dialog) and stroked the path with forground color, Just one click does it. The radiating rays (seperate layer)is one auto shape, filled with light blue and layer mode set to overlay and opacity dropped. The cat is an auto shape on the very top layer. The hardest part was deciding where to STOP LOL!!! #2294086

Norman P. Banks January 16, 2006

Alright my Man!!

Really well done Steve! I hope you Kept the PSD file for future reference. This is one you might want to exhibit in your local craft fair event.

Good work

Steve Mescha January 16, 2006

LOL, Norm! Yes I kept the psd file, but I did the work as a fairly small file to keep my memory from bogging down. It's only 8x10 at 72 res. It prints well at that size, but probably would get jaggy if enlarged much. Glad you checked in after I wrote the steps down. I"m sure you're one who will get the lingo, man :-) #2294571
