Description

This was taken years ago at a school for girls "at risk" in Nicaragua. Most of the girls were homeless and many without families to care for them. The opportunity to learn new skills was provided by this school where they were given clothes to wear and a safe place to stay by day. Afterwards they returned to the streets or the park where they lived among many other homeless children. If they continued their education, they were empowered to use their new-found skills to make a living and eventually mentor other young girls.
