Found this cicada in my garden lying on its back. It was dead. It surprised me to see it there as there are many Eastern cicada-killer wasps killers flying around. The females, which are rather fearsome in appearance, are seen skimming around lawns seeking good sites to build burrows and searching for cicadas in trees and shrubs. They carry the cicadas they have killed to their burrow for nesting. They serve as food for the grubs.
