Sargasso sea

Description

I took this photo on a cruise ship traveling from Boston to Bermuda. It was not a pleasant night but I had to take a couple of pictures (actually more than 50). There were a lot of lightning strikes far away (fortunately) and the heat and humidity was almost unbearable. The Sargasso Sea, located entirely within the Atlantic Ocean, is the only sea without a land boundary. It is bounded by ocean currents on all sides. Free floating golden-brown seaweed is known as Sargassum and therefore such name of the sea. Bermuda is near its western fringes. PS CC, Topaz.

Very impressive and capturing this storm turmoil had to be more than dramatic - probably leaning more towards frightening...but oh, what a capture, Natasha! Love the information, also, never knew the Sargasso Sea had no land boundaries. I should be calling you, "The Intrepid Natasha"! :) #11821280

Thank you very much, Val! And I am very far from intrepid. It just happened that night. #11821287
