The Woolly Bear

Description

This woolly bear caterpillar I found while visiting Ohio was probably, on this chilly day, looking for a place to curl up for the winter. I've learned that the amount of red and black on these little guys is supposed to tell us how the coming winter will be. More black, tougher winter. More red, milder. And if more black is on the front, say, the winter might start out rough and then ease up as it goes. And so forth. Category: Elements of Design
