Famous Guests When PG Was a Village

Uploaded: July 20, 2019 | Entered: July 20, 2019 05:55:42

Description

Many murals decorate the buildings of Punta Gorda, Florida. This one commemorates the old Hotel Punta Gorda, which stood between 1888 and 1925. Guests pictured include Clarence Darrow, Henry Ford, Daniel Beard, Thomas Edison, Patty Berg, Henry Firestone, and Andrew Mellon. Sadly, this mural no longer exists, as repairs had to be made on the contemporary building on which it was painted. For the PG101 travel images theme. It's not travel for me to have seen this, but for many who come here from elsewhere. Category: Villages and Village Life (travel/place)

Exif: Camera: NIKON CORPORATION NIKON D7100; Shutter Speed: 1/1250; Aperture: f/11.0; ISO: 400; Orientation: 1; Date: 2019:07:04 09:15:06

Even though this mural does not still exist, it portrays that to was a popular holiday spot at one time. #1727218

Nice, Mitch! Our town has a clock that looks just like that one at a corner of our Central Park. The golfer in the upper-middle sure likes like the current occupant of the White House. #11771838
