Red-Shouldered Hawk

Uploaded: March 02, 2018 | Entered: March 02, 2018 12:01:15

Description

I grabbed my new Canon 7D Mark II and 100-400mm L lens and went for a walk on our neighbor's farm (have permission). I think this is a Red-Shoulder Hawk, let me know if I am wrong. Anyway, I could only get so close to him because of the fence (have permission to go inside too, but just afraid I might not get a gate closed back or something). Taken handheld f5/6, 1/1000, ISO 400.

Excellent detail, pose and wildlife capture Shirley!! I have never heard of the Red Shouldered hawk until now, looks a lot like the Red Tailed hawk!! #11682259

Thank you, John and Janet. The Red-tailed doesn't have as much of a red on it's chest and shoulders as the Red-shouldered, I believe is one identifying difference. <>< #11682349
