Description

The "monumental room" of the Marciana Library in Venice. Built in the mid-1500's to house an important collection of some 1,000 codices, manuscripts and printed books given to Venice in the late-1400's, it formed the first 'public' library open to scholars in Venice. PG101 Parallel Lines theme - love that shiny marble floor! 12/17 Finalist - ManMade

All of the detail is almost dizzying, Chris. One wonders how mere books could ever compete with this grand visual banquet. #1700728
