Description

A pair of keys crossed diagonally create the only visual symbolism in a large wrought iron gate at the cathedral. While the scrolling forms repeat all over the gate, the keys only appear in one square panel, and symbolize the keys of St. Peter.

As always, you have captured the detail so well. Love the almost hidden keys, and it's interesting to know they only appear in one square. Great theme entry. #1699297

Wow, that is such an ornate piece of work - and captured perfectly. I didn't realize they were keys initially - great find. #11657090

Thanks so much folks! The ironwork at the cathedral, produced by about 20 different blacksmiths over the years, remains my favorite art form adorning the building. #11657238
