Visiting Mount Shasta a few weekends back, we were hoping to repeat a hike that features awesome meadows of wildflowers in the summertime, but the road to the trailhead was still closed with lingering snowpack. Instead, we returned to Heart Lake where I was able to find the surprisingly illusive spot from which a reflection of Mount Shasta, 20 miles to the east, can be seen.

It's intriguing that the reflections of the mountains 20 miles away can be seen in the lake, Martha. The clarity, colors, depth, reflections & scene are gorgeous! Also hope you have a winner here! #11627995Heidi R. Geise August 04, 2017
