My son becoming enshrouded in icy mist at Latourell Falls in the Columbia River Gorge yesterday! We had to scrape his ice layer off before he got in the car!

Certainly gives perspective, Katherine!! Fantastic shot, and was your son ever a good sport!! Was the walk down the path to the falls icy?? #11551499Katherine Kuhn January 05, 2017
Thank you all! Teresa -- he's a natural risk-taker, so no thought at all about walking out on the ice in his sneakers. We had intended to bring the yak trax, but left them home. One guy went down the hill & across the bridge below to the R wearing them. Without, you'd never have gotten back up, if you'd made it down without slipping into the creek! And it was very cold, hi 20s with a 30 mph E wind whistling through. #11551503Harvey A. Ravitch January 05, 2017

This is such an amazing shot Katherine and your brave son indeed gives it great perspective!!!! #11551516John Connolly January 06, 2017
This is definitely alien to my climate Katherine! A wonderful winter scene and capture, and I like the scale your son adds to this image! #11551654Katherine Kuhn January 06, 2017
John, it feels a bit alien to us as well, as the last 2 winters have been unusually warm. This year I even had daffodils blooming by Thanksgiving - about 2 months too early for them. I had 3 more blooming before this last dip into a week in the teens but didn't pick them-- covered them with buckets to see if the blossoms survive! #11551747Katherine Kuhn January 06, 2017
And yes, Harvey, it's basically home -- 40 min drive away just E of Portland. I love Oregon!!!! #11551748Sign up for an interactive online photography course to get critiques on your photos.
