Description

F11, 1/60, Tamron 28mm,Portland ME, Sep 26 02, 1:32 pm. Oldest in Maine, a maritime tragedy in 1787, promoted the legislature to approve $750, to begin construction, of a 58' tower. The Lighthouse Act of 1789, gave it Federal Gov., in 1790 President Washington, alloted $1500 to complete the light, she flickered into operation in January 10, 1791, listed on the National Register of Historic places.
