Description

Two bars of iron, pierced and joined by a rivet. Then, the rivet head, and just the 90-degree edges of the 2 bars were sanded to bring up their highlights.

Thanks -- this was a sanding exercise for me; a blacksmith friend sent me this bit of iron (a model for a gate) and some emory cloth, so I could sand it to understand a concept he was trying to explain in a letter. (About creating highlights in dark wrought iron - and when to do it, vs when not to do it.) #11234965
