Kitchen thief!
Uploaded: April 29, 2014 | Entered: April 29, 2014 22:36:43
This little Yellow Honeyeater flew into my open kitchen window, and helped himself to our custard apples that we had picked. We are finding it very hard to rescue any of the fruit off our trees, as the birds are getting to them way too fast! Apparently, not even a kitchen bench is safe from the birds! (But we love them all, just the same)

This image and story are a total delight!Would you be from Australia? I haven't seen custard apples since we visited!
In Niagara, we have the many techniques for birds and the grapes that are held for the cold weather to make ice wine. It involves nets and machines that make gun noises. #11035112

Yes, Marilyn, I do live in Australia! :) The farms here use the nets and machines to keep away the birds, but these trees are just in our back yard, so, the guns wouldn't do, and the fruit only lasts a few days, so probably wouldn't be worth the trouble. :) #11035284Stephen Zacker April 30, 2014
