Harbinger?
Uploaded: February 05, 2014
---
American Robins have historically been the harbinger of Spring in North America. But the generally mild winters in the Philadelphia area have convinced the robins not to migrate South, but instead stay around over the entire year.
----
On Monday we had about ten inches of wet, heavy snow, and on an early morning walk yesterday, neighborhood snow-laden trees were also full of puffed-up little robins, trying to keep warm.

Great capture here Michelle, feel sorry for those mixed up Robins. I actually noticed a couple of them a couple of weeks ago in Burlington Ont.. Not seed eaters, there sure not going to be worms here for them for a long time yet? #1562319Avril Young February 05, 2014

Well seen and a very beautiful capture of this snow covered tree and most likely cold robin, Michelle! Most of our robins here just move to a lower altitude. #10967589Carol L. Fowler February 05, 2014

Down here in the south, this is the time of the year when you will see yards covered with these beautiful birds. It is the stare bird of my home state of Wisconsin. To see one in all this snow is amazing. I love how it stands out with its colors. A beautiful look at this messenger that spring has arrived Michelle. #10969161Jeff Robinson February 07, 2014
