Thanks everyone, I just wanted to add one more, I put some of the photos I used to decorate the tree on the picture! The dogs were real sports and were fairly patient while I shot these. I think the roast beef sandwiches helped! #10923508

Beth - you have made me laugh today. I love how creative you got with decorating the tree with images of your babies!! Sampson would NEVER have let me put a hat on him for a picture like that - and you had to orchestrate the two of them. Incredible!! I didn't even send Christmas cards this year. I may play catch-up after the New Year. I usually do every other year and if I don't send out something this year I will be two years in arrears.

Hi Beth. I wish you a very blessed and joy filled Christmas and New year.
And what a very creative card.
You've never heard of the pickle in the Xmas tree tradition? Where you've been hiding girl! But truth told, neither had I until I came to the US 20yrs ago. There appear to be many versions of its purpose but I like the one that says a pickle ornament is hung deep within the decorations on the Xmas tree so that in looking for it the finder can claim a year's good fortune and will have taken time to admire all the other baubles. presumably the original pickle was a real one and the glass decoration was something our enterprising manufacturers latched onto.
And did you know? Of course not! Berrien, Michigan claims to be the Christmas Pickle capital of the World and holds a festival and parade to celebrate that fact. No doubt they have a giant pickle hall of fame too but I can't prove that. Love this whacky country! #10923779
