This was taken last May during the migration of the warblers at Magee Marsh (look that up Peter:). We saw over 20 different warblers. This spot is world famous at this time of year because it is a stopping point for these birds before they cross Lake Erie and go north to Canada.

I cropped this photo a lot, so it may not be as sharp as it should be. I also strengthened the catchlight in the eye with PSE. #1554689

Very nice, Elaine. I'm not sure that I'm 100% in love with the crop you chose. Can you re-crop, moving the little guy to the left? This would give him a little room to look into. #10913731

isn't he beautiful...very nice capture of him. agree a different crop would me better for the looking space needed. even if you kept the sq crop. #10913747

He sure is a cute little guy. If you don't have the room for a wider crop, a horizontal flip will help. Also might try just a bit if high pass filter using a soft light blend. #10913756

What a great capture, Elaine. Beautiful colors and the close-crop works for me. I think the softness adds a certain sweetness in this young Warbler, so I wouldn't do any serious sharpening, if any. I do agree with moving him a little to the left, if you can, and also cloning out the branch in the upper left. #10913761

Gotta love this one, Elaine. Great DOF control. Nice sharpness in the eyes, beak and shouder. The bright, very soft backgound works excellently. #10913765

I like him. The shot has that warm and fuzzy feeling you get when looking at a cute stuffed animal. I think your severe crop held up well and the only change I would make would be to the position as suggested by Jeff. #10914183

A delightful shot of a beautiful bird Elaine. And after enjoying just looking at the little fella you bet I zoomed off to Magee Marshes and spent a happy half hour exploring. There is an excellent website describing the history and wildlife to be found there.

What a beautiful shot!! I love the yellow in this one.. He seems sharp to me and great focus. I agree with cloning out the branch on the upper left and maybe more room on the left if that is possible.
We have lots of these guys and they have all lost their yellow for the winter. #10914407

The only suggestions I have already have been suggested... that branch upper left and move the crop a little bit. Nice timing. #10914445

He's very beautiful. I agree that moving him slightly to the left to open the area up that he's looking into would fit nicely. I would remove the little leaf in the upper corner as well.

He's so cute! Great shot and composition! #10914450

Sorry it took so long-we were out of town. I am not sure I got the crop right. I have a ton more space to work with, so let me know if I still need to reposition or add more space. Thanks! #10918791
