Rainy Morning
Uploaded: November 23, 2013
I took this a few years back in the classroom of one of the teachers where I taught -- he always looked as dapper as this image suggests. The day I first noticed the possibility for a still life built around the hat and coat rack was bright and sunny. I tried a few shots and though I could not get an exposure I liked, I was excited by the potential of the composition. I came back three more times, adjusting my angle -- and the venetian blind -- and finally, on an overcast and rainy morning, I got a couple I liked. I now have a print of this in my family room - and he and his wife have one in their living room.

Beautiful photo and equally wonderful story. Somehow I was reminded of the Oliver Sacks (true) story, "The Man Who Mistook his Wife for a Hat!" #10906342Sign up for an interactive online photography course to get critiques on your photos.
